WWDC 2025: Apple Intelligence’s New Features Overview

At WWDC 2025, Apple announced major updates to Apple Intelligence, bringing new AI-powered features across iPhone, Apple Watch, and other devices. Highlights include live translation, enhanced visual intelligence, personalized workout coaching, and smarter automation—all designed to improve user experience while protecting privacy. 

1. Live Translation in Messages and FaceTime 

Apple Intelligence now offers live translation in Messages, FaceTime, and Phone apps, enabling seamless communication across different languages with real-time text and voice translation—all processed securely on-device to protect privacy. 

2. Enhanced Visual Intelligence 

Visual Intelligence on iPhone screens has been upgraded to recognize images and text, allowing users to add events to calendars from screenshots, search for similar products from photos, and more—making information management easier than ever. 

3. Workout Buddy on Apple Watch 

The new Workout Buddy feature on Apple Watch provides personalized workout coaching by analyzing heart rate, pace, distance, and fitness history, delivering real-time motivational voice guidance based on Fitness+ trainers’ data for various exercise types. 

4. Smarter Shortcuts

The Shortcuts app in iOS 26 integrates Apple Intelligence’s models directly, enabling intelligent actions like text summarization and AI-powered image generation within shortcuts, helping users automate complex tasks while maintaining privacy. 

5. Updates to Genmoji and Image Playground 

Genmoji now allows combining multiple emojis and text descriptions to create unique emojis, while Image Playground leverages ChatGPT technology to generate diverse image styles and edit photos, expanding creative expression. 

6. Other Notable Features

• Poll creation suggestions in Messages

• Enhanced Siri with typed input and contextual understanding
